Success in our campaign leads to improved community health. This is measured not only by the health outcomes of the individual patients, but has the potential to positively impact the community at large.
Health disparities still exist in Arizona. Prototype is located in a Medically Underserved Area (MUA), and a Health Provider Shortage Area. MUA's have lower ratios of primary care physicians, higher infant mortality rates and a greater percentage of the population living below the federal poverty level. Improved access to healthcare will benefit individuals and families through reduced missed school and work days, leading to improved graduation rates and more economic stability; employers and communities benefit through a healthier work force, fewer emergency room visits, and a decreased taxpayer burden.
